1- Who is Narendra Modi:
Narendra Modi is the 14th Prime Minister of India since 26th May 2014. His full name is Narendra Damodardas Modi. He hail from Gujarat, a state of India. Before being the Prime Minister of India, He had served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat state for 14 long years.
2- His Birth and Family:
Narendra Modi was born on 17th September 1950 at Vadnagar, Mehsana, Gujarat. His father’s name is Damodardas Mulchand Modi and his mother’s name is Hiraben Modi. He is third child of his parents among six siblings. In his many speeches during elections he had clarify that he used to sell tea at Vadnagar Railway Station with his father Mulchand Modi.
3- His Marriage and Separation:
Narendra Modi was married to Jashodaben Modi but they don’t live together since few years after their marriage. They got married in 1968 when Narendra Modi was just 18 years old and Jashodaben was 17 or 16 years old. They got separated after few years because Narendra Modi didn’t want a married life as he would planned to move around the world. As per Sombhai Modi brother of Narendra Modi, Narendra had been forced to marry. He added that he was inspired by Swami Vivekanand and he wanted to roam around the world for gaining much knowledge.
4- Narendra Modi’s Educational Qualification Controversy:
In the election of year 2014, Narendra Modi showed his educational qualification that he had passed BA from University of Delhi and MA from Gujarat University. But a controversy began after a RTI application filed by Arvind Kejariwal The Chief Minister of Delhi. As Narendra Modi had completed his BA from School of Open Learning in political science in 1978 but the University has no any record of the students of that year. In another issue Narendra Modi completed his MA from Gujarat University in 1983 in Political Science but as per Jayantibhai Patel a former Professor of Gujarat University the subject mentioned in Prime Minister’s Degree was not in studying there at that time.
5- Narendra Modi and 2002 Gujarat Riots:
If you are going through the history of Narendra Modi then you should not forget to know about the ‘2002 Gujarat Riots’. Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat State during the riot and he had been blamed for. Due to this Narendra Modi had to resign from the post of Chief Minister and his whole cabinet was dissolved in July 2002. Again election was started in December 2002 and after the election his party BJP won 127 seats out of 182 and again Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
6- Narendra Modi as a Prime Minister:
Narendra Modi assumed his office as a Prime Minister on 26th May 2014. After being the Prime Minister of India, he had started direct connection with the common people of India. He started ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on 3rd October 2014 to share his thoughts to the people directly through a radio programme. He started ‘Digital India’ to make India and Indians Digital. Further he and his government had launched few programme for the betterment of people like Ujjwala Scheme.
7- His Fashion Style:
Inspite of his works and attitude, he is also famous for his dressing style. He love to wear Kurta and Payjama. His special type of Jacket is famous around the world and known as Modi jacket. In an interview he accepted that he always love to wear neat and clean dresses.
8- Narendra Modi and International Awards:
Narendra Modi had been awarded by the highest honour by the many countries like ‘Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud’ by the Saudi Arabia, ‘State order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan’ by Afghanistan, ‘Grand Collar of the State of Palestine’ Award by the Palestine, ‘Order of Zayed Award’ by the United Arab Emirates, ‘Order of St. Andrew Award’ by Russia, ‘Order of Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin’ by Maldives, ‘Champion of the Earth Award’ by the United Nations Environment Programme etc.
9- His Controversial Policies:
He is also known for his bold policies. He had taken many decisions for the welfare of his country but they were also very controversial. His few policies that were controversial like Demonetisation, Farm’s Law, Repeal of Article 370, GST, Citizenship Amendment Act etc.
10- Narendra Modi as a Writer:
Narendra Modi is well known for his leadership but he has also written many books like Aapaatkaal mein Gujarat, Convenient Action: Gujarat’s response to challenges of climate change, Social Harmony, Jyotipunj, India’s Singapore Story, Exam warriors etc.
