1- Foundation of Blue Origin:
The private Aerospace company “Blue Origin” was founded on 8th September 2000 by Jeff Bezos the founder of E-Commerce platform Amazon at Kent, Washington, USA.
2- Idea behind “Blue Origin”:
This is quite interesting to know that Jeff Bezos founded this company after watching a science fiction film October Sky in 1999. This film make him to think about the future of the earth and he founded his own company after the great discussion with science fiction film author Neil Stephenson.
3- Motto of the “Blue Origin”:
The main motto of the company is to make cheaper and reliable road-map for the common people to explore the space through its space vehicles. In his early age in the year 1982, Jeff Bezos told in a interview that he had planned to make hotels, amusement parks etc in space orbit so that millions of people can spend their life there and this would help earth to be more beautiful and calm.
4- Blue Origin Logo:
Bird feather is the logo of Blue Origin. As per their official website this logo describes the perfection of the flight, freedom of exploration, mobility and progress.
5- Projects of Blue Origin:
Blue origin has launched so many test flights in the space. Some of them are Charon, Goddard, New Shepard, New Glenn, New Armstrong, Blue Moon, Project Jarvis, Orbital Reef etc.
6- Funding for the Blue Origin:
Jeff Bezos invested his own money in this company. Firstly he invested $500 million in Blue Origin in the year 2014. Later he invested almost $1 Billion after selling his shares in Amazon. Blue origin also earn some funding from selling its rocket engines etc.
7- It works on VTVL Technology:
The company launch its spaceflights on VTVL model which mean ‘Vertical Take-off and Vertical Landing’. It is the technology to reuse the used vehicles. As per its official website safety is the top mission for the Blue Origin.
8- First Flight:
Blue Origin launched its first experimental flight in 2015 and after that it has been working continuously and finally it has launched first crewed flight on 20th July 2021.
9- Crew members in Space flight launched on 20th July 2021:
The company “Blue Origin” has finally achieved its goal to explore the space. Jeff Bezos, his brother Mark Bezos, a 18 year old student Oliver Demen and a 80 year old lady Wally Funk were the crew of first successful crewed flight of Blue Origin.
10- ‘Blue Origin’ collaboration:
Blue Origin also collaborate with many other institutions like NASA, ULA (United Launch Alliance), Mars Aerospace Company and Military Agencies of United States of America etc.
