Burj Khalifa is the tallest building of the world and tallest man made structure on the earth. Previously it was known as Burj Dubai but just before inauguration of this building in 2010, its name was changed to Burj Khalifa.
2- Meaning of Burj Khalifa:
If we are eager to know more about it then we should also know the meaning of Burj Khalifa. Burj means Tower and Khalifa is named after the name of United Arab Emirates Ruler Sheikh Khalifa because Sheikh Khalifa had funded money for the construction of this building in financial crisis.

4- Architect of Burj Khalifa:
Burj Khalifa was designed by the famous American architect Adrian Smith. He is renowned architect due to his masterpiece works. He has designed more buildings besides Burj Khalifa like Jin Mao Tower in Sanghai, Pearl River Tower in Guangjhoz, Trump International Hotel & Tower. He has also designed Jeddah Tower which is planned to be the world’s first tower with a height of 1 Km.
5- Its construction period:
As it is the tallest building of the world, it took almost 6 years to to being completed. Construction work of the Burj Khalifa was started on 6th January 2004 and inaugurated on 4th January 2010. More than 12000 workers had contribute their hard work to built this amazing and astonishing building for us.
6- Numbers of floors in Burj Khalifa:
As this building is the tallest building of the world, it is honored with many records like it holds a world’s record of having most of the floors. It has 163 floors while ‘One World Trade Center’ has 110 floors.
7- World Tallest residential building:
It has a world record of having tallest residential space. You can feel cold on the top of the Burj Khalifa as the the temperature on top floors falls till 15 ‘C in normal season. You can take a look of Burj Khalifa from a distance of 95 kilometre in normal visibility.

9- Its design derived from:
It is said that the design of the “Burj Khalifa” was derived from the “The Great Mosque of Samarra” of Iraq. It’s design also inspired by a desert flower named Spider lily. If you take a sight of Burj Khalifa from the sky, you may be amazed that it looks very similar to the flower spider lily.
